Family Fun Stuff

The Christmas Season is here! I know many of you celebrate by using an advent calendar. To find great devotionals to go with your daily activities check out Melissa's daily devotionals

We try to do a family activity every night of advent. Some nights there just isn't time but we usually come up with something fun.

Rudolph night: Rudolph was shown on tv several nights ago (don't worry you can rent it if you missed it). Before it came on we made a reindeer centerpiece for the table.

I folded long rectangles of brown paper into a triangle and taped. We traced our hands on light brown paper and added these for antlers. Wiggle eyes and pom pom noses completed the look. These are cute but did not show up well in the pic.

During the commercials we played where's Rudolph: hide a stuffed reindeer toy somewhere in the house. The person who's it then searches with hot/cold hints.

This is easy enough and fun enough for even dysfunctional families! Go Rudolph!

If you like this and want more, leave a comment and I'll add some to my craft blog.

I can't do crafts, I glue things to my hands and clothes and hair. Too dangerous.

Love the reindeer. Will Mr. CDD be jealous? Hey, when did you start a special craft blog? I just saw it today and all those cones are so pretty. You DO sound almost normal, but I can't quite wrap my mind around that concept just yet. JeanKnee...Normal...sound almost like an oxymoron! :)

Cute reindeer! And what a great idea to do something each night!
Can I tell you... I thought that you would still be trying to stretch Halloween in there somehow... spider webs on the antlers or something of that sort ;)
And thanks for the shout out for my other blog! I hadn't updated it for a couple of days... but it's current now!

Yes but could Rudolph use his nose so bright to fix elastic's crappy Internet tonight? Cause then how the Infidels would love him and like shout out with glee and stuff.

Don't they use reindeer hooves to make glue?

Rudolph gets all the attention because of the shiny red nose. And the song.

Kinda like Father Al getting all the attention.

NCS- did you see him get his prize??????

Super Happy Girl said...

I didn't: I was shopping, I was consumering.
The shame.

I did see part of his speech. So fancy and moving he is.
And this morning I saw the picture of him and Tipper.
