Extended Weekend Fun

It's always delightful when you have an extra day tacked onto a weekend, right? What did I do with my extra day with the fam? Did we go museum hopping, have a smores roast with the neighbors, make belly button lint crafts?

No we had spew fest 2008 when the flu visited our household. Where can you purchase that red stuff grade school janitors used to, uh, clean up? I wish I knew, but cat litter will work on hard surfaces in a pinch. And then the today show had the audacity to show sliced raw tuna steak appetizers. Those fiends!

But today? Today is glorious. Everything looks new and sparkly and fresh, even though the skies are overcast and that horrible cold mist is spraying all over.
Everyone is well and about their usual activities. I passed a majestic looking owl sitting in a tree by the road surveying everything around him as if he were king of it all. He probably will be one day when we stupid humans destroy ourselves.

I'm so sorry you and the fam were sick. How yucky.

I love your thoughts about everything being bright and new and fresh, and the owl, and then the way you ended with, "when we stupid humans destroy ourselves."

My mom laughed her head off when I told her about the bacon ornaments. I think she wants some now.

Ahhh, the "pleasures" of worshipping that porcelain god! I feel for you, girl - we went thru it at our house last week. Glad you're all feeling better now. You should read Heather at Coalminer's Granddaughter today. She writes about snot and how it should be turned into an energy source. Maybe she should send her article to Father Al!
O, and that red sawdust-y stuff? It's called Clean Sweep. :)

stars are cut out of foam core board, then glue painted on and sprinkled with white glitter. Fur is from Michael's and is hot-glued on. Printing is on vellum paper and glued on before glitter. Ribbons a are pink, silver, and white irridescent. Dowels are 1/4" x 12" and come in packs of 20 at Michael's. I painted them white. The hardest part of thewhole process was gluing on the fur. So now you can make them and sell them on your Etsy store. :)

Bee- I hope you survived all that bat mutiny.

don't look them in the eyes or your stomach will really give a lurch

Millie-that owl was huge and awesome. It looked like a great horned owl but I don't know if we have those here.

As soon as the red necks see it that'll be it for that sweet, rodent eating bird. See, people don't realize you don't kill something that eats rats, you'll screw yourself in the end

Brian, I bet you'd be good at zen cones. No wait I think we already went there.

Yes, it was an introspective, projective weekend.

Jean Knee said...

NCS- I'm almost certain the owl wasn't wearing glasses. It sure could turn its head all around though.

kinda like killer beavers

b-I couldn't figure out the shape of the wand, if it was a paper mache thing or what--thanks

Jean Knee said...

Oh, Yeah I'm certain Father Al will fly in his private jet straight to Heather's to learn more about snot as an energy resource. then he'll buy stock in the company

Fete-Did I win yet?? err I mean, do you have a winner yet?

Yikes. Very, very glad things are all sparkly and fresh again.

(And don't kid yourself. That wasn't an owl--merely a scavenger. He's just waiting for you to spew again and he'll fly down and get hisself the biggest bits.

Oh, that was disgusting. I apologize. Eww. I think I'm gonna make myself hurl...) *logging off in a hurry*
