re: Halloween

The Halloween season is finally here. Check out my count down counter on the left.
Thirty nine days to get into the "spirit". Thirty nine days to decorate, generate, propagate, create, instigate, and reverberate everything you need, to do the season right.

In the spirit of the season, my usual phrase "The Outrage" will be replaced by this phrase, "The Horror". (thank you Joseph Conrad)

What will you be doing to prepare?

Collecting all the pictures of clowns I can find and sending them to my dear friend...

I'll come back later I'm to dinner.

Here on the other side of the pond, Halloween is eclipsed somewhat by Bonfire Night (5 days later). I don't personally go in for either, but in this neighbourhood we have fireworks several weeks either side of the day itself (a lot of them can't count).

So, maybe I should start saying

BANG!

bee- don't bother, I'm sure I already have them all,
sorted and labeled, and put 'away'
for now

Umm...oh heck. Forgot about Halloween. Does this mean I have to stop playing Christmas music?

I am trying to keep hubby from spending money on MORE Halloween deco. We have grundles and he wants more.

I am also trying put together a party for the young men I work with. Imagine a party, on Halloween, without drugs or alcohol. . . Yeah, I am trying teach them to have fun without the drugs and alcohol.

Let the holiday season begin.

If you are going to be saying "The Horror" and Brian is going to be saying "BANG!" I don't want to be stuck with saying "clown" or "."
I'll have to come up with something...

didn't you just get drug tested for that?

I will be finding out what my children want to be for Halloween, and seeing if I can talk them into wearing what they wore last year.

Now now, no spreading rumours in blogland! But um, yeah I was caught with some white stuff on my nose.

I love the fall and decorating. And we have several parties planned. One for us and one for kids.

I am going to put up my insane amount of Halloween decorations and go look at a costume. You're never to old to dress up for Halloween, after all, even if there is an age when people start looking at you funny if you go to the door and ask "trick or treat!" There's one of a spider witch that I find particularly intriguing.

What, am I stuck saying "SPIDER!" now then?

Oh, and Kimberly- no! don't turn off the Christmas music! I listen to Christmas music all year round, too. I mean, why not?

The worst part is it getting one stuck in your head and having people stare as you start humming "Here We Come A-Caroling" on a bus in May.

chris:
yeah, say spider!!

I've stopped all attempts at hair removal so I can make a more convincing Wolf Girl.....

(and potential Jacob Black bride. Does that cheese you off, Tori? Does it?)

I'm also brushing up on my Halloween joke repertoire.

Why can't witches have babies?

Because their husbands have Hallow Weenies!

After close examination, it has been revealed that Ross has one of those extended belly buttons. Kind of like the mouth on the ghost face in Scream.

Worrieth not about matters of the navel, fair maiden!

I know what Anne Geddes is doing to get ready for the season....

She's stealing babies right and left to pose inside pumpkins.

I think Anne Geddes is a little bit creepy.

Today starts the Vietnamese Fall Holiday Season too.

Lock up your dogs, people.

I probably won't decorate the house this year. I did a little bit last year, but we had 4 trick or treators. Then we headed to our church for a trunk or treat. Now that was fun! Hubby and I made an arch in the back of the truck, strung ripped fabric and cobwebs all over. Then I made a big ol spider and hung it from the middle of the arch. :) So far, I've started working on costumes, but that's about it for this year.

uh... jean knee! what about me??? you didn't like my word??
What's wrong with SLAPPED!?

You can use it in many forms:

jean knee ignored bee and got... SLAPPED!

and then there's the other kind which should only be used in the privacy of your home.

Jean Knee said...

BEE- SLAPPED!!! PERFECT

I must say I agree with you Halloween is great fun. The one real time when you get to act silly and be a kid..and it's expected. My inlaws have an annual Halloween bash for kids and adults..and dress up is required. It's great fun. The adults all get very creative...and everyone tries to out do the other one. We also have a haunted trail (they live in the country) and it's the best..my father in law has already been planning for like four weeks now....it's Oct. 20th...so come on over!
