Groundhog Day

Here it is 5:00 pm and I have just remembered what glorious holiday is celebrated this very day. So sorry Phil, but better late than never....

These are some stuffed groundhogs I found for sale. It didn't state what they were stuffed with but I can only hope bacon so they can go straight into the oven.

"Well, it's Groundhog Day. Again"

I wouldn't worry about being late. If you're really lucky you'll get to do it over and over...

Groundhog Day is my ex-wife's favourite film, so I've seen it so often I know it all by heart.

Given the rather dire weather, I don't think we need a groundhog to tell us that we've still got 6 more weeks of winter to go.

Is "Gobbler's Nob" as obscene in America as it is in Britain???

very obscene.

I also love Groundhog day the movie. The first time I saw it with my inlaws, and my FIL said it was too redundant--he wasn't making a joke either

I have been to the very place it was filmed , Woodstock IL. My MIL and SIL made me shop at the quaint little stores. We even ate in the little shop. so sweeeet

Hey, Bee I bet you've been there too huh?

My lttle Mexican mommy greeted me like this when I came home today:
"That dog of a groundhog said we will be having 6 extra weeks of winter! >:o["
She said it in Spanish so something is lost in translation but I laughed my ass off at how upset she was!

The eyeshadow cartoon was my fave.

To celebrate the day, I made it most of the way through my annual viewing of Groundhog Day.

"The wretch, concentered all in self,
Living shall forfeit fair renown,
And doubly dying shall go down
To the vile depths from whence he sprung,
Unwept, unhonored, and unsung - Sir Walter Scott."

:::Phil laughing his head off:::

"What, you don't like poetry?"

"Oh no, I love poetry - I just thought that was WILLARD Scott."

I wanna know what "Gobbler's Nob" means in Britain.

Or do I?

this poor lady had someone take advantage of her myopic condition and they stole her fur hat and replaced it with a groundhog instead. She can't understand why he won't just sit still on top of her head like he used to. Poor thing.

Did he see his shadow?

I think your comments may be stuck in a loop, jean knee.

Ahh...Groundhog's Day. Really a cool holiday. (Jake was supposed to be born on groundhog's day, actually, and it terrified me. What if he poked his head out, saw his shadow, and decided that there was going to be six more weeks of pregnancy? So glad he came a few days early.)

And I love the movie.

I love that movie so much I spent the whole time standing in the back of the theater holding my newborn baby to keep her quiet.
